Muthurangam Government Arts College (Autonomous), Vellore, organized
two day national seminar on 'Economic Growth and Social Inequalities'.
This national seminar has a special significance because it was organized to celebrate the Golden Jubilee year of the college and economics department, which is a founding department of the college. Dr. Shanhanka Bhide, Professor and Director of Madras Institute of Development Studies (MIDS),
Chennai, inaugurated the seminar and delivered the keynote address. Late
Dr. S. Anand, Professor of Dr. Ambedkar Centre for Economic Studies,
University of Madras, Chennai, Dr. M.V. Srinivasan, Associate Professor at
National Council for Educational Research and Training, New Delhi, and Dr.
A. Xavier Susairaj, Associate Professor in Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur,
delivered special lectures at the inaugural session.
